Our Curriculum

Early Years Learning Framework

At North Rocks Preschool and Long Day Care Centre, our educational approach is guided by the Australian Government’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

The purpose of the EYLF is to support, extend, and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school.

Within the framework of the EYLF, we adopt a holistic approach to learning that focuses on children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual wellbeing.

Each of our curriculum areas supports children’s sense of being, belonging, and becoming as they develop learning confidence and competence.

Key Learning Areas

Learning Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity.

Learning Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

Learning Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Learning Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners.

Learning Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.

Construction and Exploration

Our construction corner provides children with ample opportunities to build, topple, construct, and experiment with blocks, 3D shapes, and loose parts.
